128-hour internship at Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) as part of the Tarrant County College Social Work curriculum. Worked with Texas ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) at Lakeland Elementary School, facilitating the ACE after-school program. Responsibilities included tracking and logging attendance, managing students, and communicating with parents on behalf of the program.
Spring 2023
480-hour internship at Sixty and Better. Completed at the non-profit organization for senior welfare, Sixty & Better, as part of the University of Texas at Arlington curriculum. Served under the title "program operations," performing general office tasks such as setting up meetings, attending meetings, copying and scanning papers, tracking inventory, office supply runs, and assisting front desk staff. Primary responsibilities involved facilitating older adult programs at various locations, including community/rec centers, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Hosted activities such as bingo, arts and crafts, and fall prevention programs, as well as organizing events and field trips for older adults.
Summer 2023
100 hours at Millwood Behavioral Health Hospital and 380 hour Internship at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, focusing on social work case management within a healthcare setting. Responsibilities included conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial-spiritual assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings. Provided direct support to patients and families, addressing psychosocial needs and connecting them with community resources. Engaged in discharge planning, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of care. Actively involved in patient advocacy, promoting patient rights and access to healthcare services.
