My career has included a wide variety of clinical environments, from working weekends as an emergency room doctor in Big Bear California to treating battlefield casualties in Kuwait during the Gulf War and for many years working in a busy orthopedic practice specializing in sports medicine and adult reconstruction. This both broad and specialized experience has given me the strong desire to continue to look for better ways to treat disease and injury.
My hobbies include downhill snow skiing, hiking, backpacking, golf and tennis. I have a large family, seven children and thirteen grandchildren. Four of my children are also physicians, so I have good lifeline to several other medical and surgical specialties. I'm in excellent health and plan to work full time until I am 70 years old and a few years part-time after that.
