I am excited about the prospect of being considered for the opportunities for a teaching position.. Ever since starting college, I have had the desire to assist, help and teach others. After just a quick review of my attached resume you will see that all my experience and education supports that assertion. I have found that my gift is with children between the ages of 5 to 12 . I am excited about being able to use my skills and experience in these new opportunities. I have been a paraprofessional for 17 years . Over the last two years, I have taken and passed all the necessary tests, received letters of recommendation from current colleagues and supervisors as well satisfying all other requirements. , I took the initiative to take and complete all the professional development hours that are required for teachers but not paraprofessionals. I also gained real hands-on experience while taking over full teaching responsibilities for a total of 6 months. Once during the beginning of the year for 9 weeks while a co-worker was for a personal reason. Then again for 4 months while another co worker was on Family Medical Leave. This is an exciting new program that assists people with qualifications like mine to gain their teaching certificate. Now that I have been accepted into this program, I will be able to use my education and years of experience to teach .
