ULI is the oldest and largest global membership organization comprised of cross-disciplinary real estate and land use professionals (~50,000 members). The Institute is a thought-leader and convener for the real estate industry, with 52 chapters in the Americas bringing together leading real estate professionals to solve complex real estate concerns and to research and share cutting edge knowledge on developing more equitable communities.

  • Responsible for bottom-line performance in the Americas region, comprising ~40,000 members located in 48 chapters in the USA, 3 chapters in Canada, and 1 in Mexico.
  • Represented America's interests in the global ULI decision-marking and resource allocation processes. Members share their expertise enabling ULI to set standards and drive excellence in development practices, community building, and in working collaboratively on significant issues impacting the global economy.
  • Engaged with members across the Americas to deliver ULI's mission: To shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact worldwide.
  • Drove engagement, focus, and financial support for ULI mission priorities: housing attainability, decarbonization, and education of the industry's future diverse leaders.
  • Led teams who oversaw business units and member networks.
  • Responsible for the governance and management of the Americas board both as member and lead staff person. Shared results compared to budget and strategic plan and created communities to leverage members and their real estate perspective. Reported to Chair-Americas, a member-leader who serves in this role for a two-year period. (Had 4 "bosses" during my tenure) Provided updates on Americas key issues at Global Board meetings.
  • Provided networking and community engagement opportunities through chapters in Americas.
  • Oversaw product council network, comprised of senior real estate experts who convene twice yearly with other experts to address complex real estate challenges and innovate on new opportunities. These experts comprise the leaders of largest real estate and adjacent real estate companies in the world.
  • Oversaw Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging efforts to provide more opportunities to create equitable communities and correcting bad land use decisions. Created more opportunities through programs and networks for women, BIPOC (Black, indigenous, people of color), and LGBTQIA+ communities. Focused on young leaders as the future leaders for ULI.
