A kindhearted, aspiring educator with six years of educational experience. Expert in closely monitoring student safety while providing fun, academic and inclusive environments. Dedicated to promoting developmental milestones in both general education and special education settings.
As an assistant preschool teacher, I work in a professional classroom setting, aiding the teacher in educating young minds. Upon entering the center, I help the teacher organize the classroom for the upcoming day of activities. Preparation includes cleaning, rearranging, and lesson planning. When the children arrive, I help them adjust to the school environment with games, snack time, and drawing. I supervise the children outside during playground time, assuring their safety on playground equipment. Rest time is monitored by myself and the classroom teacher after lunch, where I also aid with food preparation and behavior management. Upon dismissal, I ensure the safety of the students by checking every parent’s ID and cleaning up the classroom for the next day of class.
As a paraprofessional in a sub-separate special education classroom, I assisted small groups of students with behavior management strategies by applying positive reinforcement to redirect negative behaviors. In 2022, I worked with grades two through four. In 2023, I worked with grades three through five. Throughout the two summers, I gained experience with the implementation and updating of IEPs at the discretion and direction of teachers and administrators. I assisted teachers with lesson planning, material setup, safety monitoring, and behavior correction.
Through Tempus Unlimited, I worked as an at home behavior technician. I went to the home of a sixth grade boy with special needs and aided him with daily transitions and homework. I responsible for feeding him, changing him, and ensuring his safety in a home setting. I kept a log of his behaviors and self regulation for his parents and teachers. In doing so, I provided emotional support and compassionate care to the child and his household.
As an assistant dance instructor, I aided the dance teacher in creating new, age-appropriate dance routines for children ages three to thirteen. I taught topics in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, pointe, and contemporary. I helped prepare music, costumes, choreography, and warm-up exercises. I also helped clean up the studio before and after class, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and parents.
