1 Year 5 Months- To begin, I would like to state that I absolutely loved this job. Assisted veterinarian with animal restraint, vaccination and medication administration, radiographs, nail trimming, and performed occasional reception work. The animal hospital and clinic are owned by the same manager, so I would travel to different locations depending on the week for work. Some weekends I would be assigned kennel duties, where I would care for pets boarding in the facility. Cared for boarding pets by feeding, watering, walking, cleaning, and administering medications during overnight stays.

SHIFT LEADER/ BAKER
7 Months- I started out here with food prep and cashiering, then quickly moved up to a shift leader position as well as baker. We all worked together in different stations of the store, so we were all doing multiple tasks at once. Led a team of employees, ensuring they performed their tasks correctly and efficiently. Duties were to make sure our store was always clean, food was in date and made properly, correct totals were being charged to customers, and balancing the cash drawer at the end of each night and logging information into our record book. As a shift leader, I would also help out wherever our shifts may be short at any time; for instance, if employees preparing orders were short handed, I would help up front with that. A baker may need assistance in the kitchen or could not keep up; I would also assist with that. It was so much fun, and I really enjoyed this job!
KENNEL ASSISTANT
6 Months- My kennel assistant main duty was to care for all boarding animals in the facility. I had to make sure all pets were fed, watered, walked, played with, and went home happy! We did occasional animal restraint and nail trimming as well.
CASHIER
5 Months- Cashier duties were to efficiently ring up customer orders through the POS system. At this store, there are no barcodes, so every item's price had to be manually typed in and entered under the appropriate department of the store. Aside from checking customers out, I also worked with returns and occasional shelve stocking when needed.
FRONT END MANAGER/ CASHIER
2 Years 9 Months- At this job, I started out as a cashier for my first year, and was moved up to a 'Front End Manager' position. As a front end manager, I had many different tasks throughout the day. Some mornings I would be at the store early to open (6am), or arrive later in the afternoon to close (12am). Morning shifts would include 'money room' duties, such as setting aside a deposit from the previous work day, counting each register drawer and setting registers up for the day. Any shift with this position, of course, included many of the same duties. I was responsible for making sure our cashiers came to work on time, handling call outs and covering shifts, counting money, selling stamps, lottery tickets, WIC and alcohol sales as well as returns and resolving customer complaints/concerns.
