Accomplishments

  • Girl Scout, Active girl scout for 12 years. I was able to build my leadership and teamwork skills. I volunteered to make beds for animals in shelters and to help feed/prep meals for the homeless. Learned leadership skills from working with younger children. I learned what it means to give back and help our community. I completed my bronze and silver awards. I learned teamwork from completing my awards.
  • Blood Drive, I organized and worked the blood drive held at my high school for two years. I was in charge of meeting with the blood drive organization to plan the event and advertising/recruiting students and staff to participate. On the day of the blood drive I checked in all students and staff participating.
  • Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), I was a team leader of a group of students who raised over $20,000 that went towards cancer research. I planned a silent auction event and teamed up with local restaurants to fund raise money. I won a leadership award from the LLS organization for my outstanding leadership skills.
  • Associated Student Body (ASB), I attended this class for three years. I was involved in planning our dances and working events our school held.
  • Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Junior Board, A group of students and I planned/organized a dodgeball tournament to raise funds for cancer research. We also volunteered at events organized by the LLS organization.
  • Strive for Strength, This is a nonprofit organization. We planned and held a retreat with a goal for empowering young women. Our goal was to make them feel confident in their own skin and give them a place where they can creatively express themselves. I was a part of this organization for five years and president for one. We fundraised money to be able to put on our retreat.
  • California Scholars Federation, To be qualified to be in this club one must maintain a 3.5 GPA and completed 10 hours of community service per semester for at least 3 years. I was in this club for four years and earned this award upon graduation.
  • UC Davis Medical Center volunteer, I volunteered in the PICU for one year. My responsibilities consisted of cleaning toys, offering human contact to patients and supervising the play room.
  • Mount Sinai CARE ED volunteer (current), My role is to provide support and care to the patients in the ED. I hand out stress balls, packets filled with puzzles, and glasses among other things to provide patients with activities while they wait for their care.
