Colorguard
Lake Howell High School June 2018 - May 2022
I lettered all 4 years of High School in the Silver Regiment program at Lake Howell High. I participated in both Fall Marching Season and Winter guard. This program is intense and can be substituted for PE credit.
My Freshman year Marching Season, we competed at state finals in Tropicana field taking 3rd in our division statewide in Florida. Later that year we placed 6th in our division at the Ocean Center in Daytona in Winterguard finals.
Sophomore year, I added Rifle to my skills in addition to Flags. Marching Season we were .20 points from State Marching finals after finishing 6th in semifinals. March 2020 Winterguard finals were cancelled due to the Covid related lockdown.
Junior year, again due to Covid related closures, no Marching season competitions were scheduled. However, Winterguard season did happen, and I was one of ten participants to compete for Lake Howell and take 3rd place in state finals in Daytona.
Senior year I was promoted to Saber Line, which is the highest class of weapons in the Guard world. State marching finals were back this year after a year delay caused by the Covid pandemic. Considering we came into this season with a Freshman and Sophomore class of band and guard members who had not marched before due to Covid, taking 5th place in our division statewide was quite an accomplishment. We also placed 5th statewide in Winterguard.
Of the four graduating Guard members, I am the only one who competed all for years in both Marching and Winter seasons allowing me to letter all four years and receive my chord to wear at graduation.
