Became competent in taking histories, performing physical examinations, and developing a differential diagnosis and treatment plan. Documented and presented findings in a concise and comprehensive manner. Developed a variety of technical skills including laceration repair using sutures, staples, or dermabond, instillation of local anesthesia and digital blocks, wound care, splinting, incision and drainage of abscesses, fluorescein staining, ear lavage, throat culture, IM injections, IV catheterization, venipuncture, pelvic exams, rectal exams, hemoccult tests, paracentesis and thoracentesis, interpretation of imaging including EKG, XRAY, CT and MRI, and first assisting in general, vascular, gynecologic and orthopedic surgeries. Cared for and developed report with diverse patients of all ages.
