I am currently a student teacher with Denver Public school through Grand Canyon University, seeking my Bachelor Degree of Applied Science in Elementary Education. I have experience working with special education students and General Education classrooms for 4 years+ . I have been working with students from K to 5th grade with and without special needs . I have been helping students throughout their school day by providing them support academically( teach Math and Literacy lessons / small groups support) and in life skills ( Feeding, Diapering, tube feeding). My daily duties were helping students to get involved in General Education activities and routines. I was helping student to participate in conversation in small and whole group and support students to build their ideas to lead them through their daily success. I was taking my students to be part of specials, field trips and any out of classroom activities. for student who are not verbal, we were usually using AAC devices to help them communicate and express themselves. In addition to this, I am able to make good communication with families regarding routines/concerns/progress and advices by sending detailed daily report to inform them how days are going step by step. I am able to track seizures and use first aid skills until the nurse arrives to help the students with medications. I am able to lead lesson plan when the Special Ed teacher or General Education Teacher is not present.
