ICU, and sub-specialty rotations.

Taking Primary interest in as overnight resident physician, managing

cross-cover calls and addressing acute clinical changes for a diverse

inpatient population.

Efficiently manage new admissions from the Emergency Department,

performing comprehensive workups, developing initial treatment plans,

and ensuring smooth transitions to inpatient floors.

Lead and participate in rapid response and code blue teams,

demonstrating proficiency in ACLS protocols and emergent procedures.

Develop strong skills in CVC, Arterial line Placement and managing

inpatient emergencies including GI bleeds, STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF

exacerbation, CVA, HTN emergency Septic shock and hepatic

encephalopathy.

Provide thorough and concise morning handoffs to daytime hospitalist

teams, ensuring continuity of care and patient safety.

• Accompanied my attending during inpatient, intensive care unit, and emergency department consults
• Learned the management of patients with hypertensive emergencies, septic shock, organophosphate poisoning, upper GI bleed, CHF exacerbation, asthma, and sleep apnea on a regular basis
• Focused on analytical assessment of patients and led detailed discussions of cases like pneumonia, COVID-19, diabetic foot infection, atrial fibrillation, and COPD, with fellow doctors and attendings
• Delivered a presentation on the 'Opportunistic infections in HIV patients' and presented it to the team
• Overall, this experience improved my clinical knowledge and refined my clinical skills. This has prepared me well for my responsibilities as a future resident physician

• Shadowed my attending during floor rounds, as well as in the ICU, Emergency room, telemetry unit, dialysis unit, and senior behavioral unit
• Observed and Learned patient admission, patient records entry in EPIC, patient transfer, discharge, and the multidisciplinary approach to each patient
• Also, interacted with patients, consulting physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and case managers
• Took detailed histories of every patient before the Physicians arrival and presented each case for feedback
• Overall, it was a great experience and an excellent opportunity to broaden my understanding of the American health care system

• Learned the management of a myriad of clinical problems such as CHF exacerbation and pulmonary edema, Pulmonary infections, Pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, Asthma management, and interstitial Pneumonitis secondary to COVID-19
• Actively participated in the morning and evening rounds and discussed difficult medical cases, with Dr. Ansari
• Acquainted with the knowledge of the EPIC electronic health record system
• Closely observed the multidisciplinary approach toward patient management and learned about the role of social worker, case manager, and a physical therapist in the team
• This rotation helped me understand how the US healthcare system works when patients are admitted to the hospital

• Learned how to address a variety of clinical issues, including acute psychosis, acute pancreatitis, pulmonary hypertension, diabetes, DVT, Pulmonary embolism, and CHF exacerbation
• Actively discussed challenging medical cases throughout the morning and evening rounds

• This rotation helped me understand how the US healthcare system works when patients are admitted to the hospital

• Completed a one-month hands-on externship rotation under the supervision of Dr. Amin
• Responsibilities included writing patient notes, Formulating a list of differential diagnoses, and detailed discussion of diagnostic workup, and management protocols
• Educated patients on the health consequences of obesity and the importance of exercise
• Observed the differences in the healthcare delivery system between the United States and Pakistan
• Learned how to effectively use technology (EMR) in providing healthcare services to patients

• Completed a one-month hands-on externship rotation under the supervision of Dr. Mahfooz
• My role was in history taking, recording vitals, and ordering appropriate workups to further assess the severity of the disease and formulate management goals
• At the conclusion of patient encounters, I completed their progress notes in the EMR system
• Focused on the management of cases like chronic pancreatitis, pneumonia, COVID-19, deep venous thrombosis, depression, diabetic foot infection, atrial fibrillation, COPD, and asthma
• This rotation helped me improve my history-taking and examination skills for a resident-level physician

• I was taking notes of patient complaints and physical exam findings to develop several differential diagnoses, workups, and treatment plans, which allowed me to improve my history taking and clinical reasoning abilities
• Interacted with patients, learned about their medical problems, and provided assistance as needed
• It provided me with valuable clinical experience and exposure to different aspects of medical care in Canada
• It was undoubtedly one of the most interesting rotations, and it helped me in acclimating to the US and Canadian health structure

• Worked with the MEHLMANMEDICAL coaching academy, to prepare students and doctors for USMLE Step1 and Step2 CK examinations. Enjoyed helping medical students excel on their exams
• Also produced teaching materials such as pharmacology flashcards for USMLE step-1 which are currently in use by students
• Helped students identify areas of weakness when studying for an exam, understanding the clinical concepts, and learn test-taking skills
• It was a unique experience, as it helped me consolidate and refresh my knowledge of basic medical and clinical sciences and improved my teaching skills

• Enrolled in this telemedicine clinical rotation during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Meetings were held using the Microsoft teams app
• A variety of hospitalized cases were presented by the preceptor. I had to make notes of several differential diagnoses, workups, and treatment strategies
• The preceptor gave lectures on a variety of topics, including the US healthcare system
• Was given the opportunity to present a topic on acute renal failure in bacterial meningitis
• Had the opportunity to attend a 2-day clinical research workshop, which was very informative

• During the COVID-19 pandemic, participated in this telemedicine clinical rotation. It provided me with valuable clinical experience and introduced me to many aspects of medical care in the USA
• As the preceptor presented patients with various medical illnesses, I was required to take notes of the patient complaints and physical exam findings to develop various differential diagnoses and treatment plans
• Several medical problems including sleep disorders, Asthma, COPD, and cardiac conditions, and their management protocols were extensively discussed
• Delivered a presentation on REM sleep behavior disorder in Parkinson's disease, as well as a separate presentation on Alzheimer's disease
• I was given the opportunity to call patients, take their histories, and update their progress notes in the EMR

• Remotely shadowed Dr. Siddiqui, Chair of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Norwegian American Hospital
• Detailed discussions of cases like pneumonia, COVID-19, pulmonary infections, viral infections, systemic fungal infections, diabetic foot infections, sepsis, COPD, and asthma
• Learned and discussed the latest protocols and landmark research studies that lead to the development of protocols on the above-mentioned topics, which provided deep insight into the practice of evidence-based medicine in the U.S. healthcare system
• Learned how to effectively use technology in providing healthcare services to patients

• As a General medical practitioner, I was obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, and making daily progress notes for admitted patients, ordering diagnostic lab tests and interpreting the results of the tests to build an appropriate patient care plan, patient referral, and medications refill
• Managed patients with chronic hypertension, diabetes, Obesity, COPD, stroke, epilepsy, and headaches
• Also, performed various age-related screening tests and ordered relevant vaccinations
• Assessed patients with Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and psychiatric problems including Depression, mania, and psychosis
• Significant exposure to individuals with medical and neuropsychiatric disorders which helped me broaden my knowledge and clinical skills

• Completed a two-year preliminary general surgery residency that included rotations in plastic surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery
• Assisted and performed procedures like Lumber punctures, chest tubes, thoracentesis, central venous lines, paracentesis, Nasogastric (NG) tube placement, Intravenous (IV) line insertion, Endotracheal intubation, and Urinary catheters placement. These skills would greatly benefit me in my internal medicine residency
• Learned assessment and management of abdominal injuries and assist with various surgical procedures such as open abdominal surgeries, hernia repair, open and laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and appendectomy
• Worked closely with Internists in managing preoperative comorbidities and postoperative medical complications
• It was a knowledge-expanding experience that helped me in learning various medical elements of preoperative and postoperative conditions and their management, which would be useful to me as a resident in the future

• A one-year internship with rotations in outpatient, inpatient, and ER settings
• My rotations were as follows: 1. 12 weeks of General and Emergency medicine 2. 12 weeks of Pulmonary and critical care 3. 12 weeks of Surgery and Trauma 4. 12 weeks of Neurosurgery
• My duty included taking histories, performing physical examinations, and writing daily progress notes, of admitted patients
• During internal medicine rotation, routinely encountered patients with different medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, CHF, COPD, septic shock, and Deep vein thrombosis and learned their management protocols
• Refined my history taking and physical examination skills. Specifically enjoyed the evidence-based, holistic approach of internal medicine physicians in the management of patients
• This has prepared me well for carrying out the role of a resident physician in any healthcare setup
