Summary

Building Automated Systems Engineer

  • Serves as the Facility Management Department's subject matter expert responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Building Automation System (BAS) also known as the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Responsible for computer and microprocessor-controlled systems located throughout the Embassy compound.
  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for the Building Automation System, critical equipment, and associated control devices within the Facility Management Department's area of responsibility, installed in the Embassy Compound.
  • Utilizes a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requests and their related expenses.
  • Performs troubleshooting on computer and microprocessor controls of automated systems including HVAC (Water-Cooled Chillers, Air-Cooled Chillers, Boilers, Air Handling Units, Variable Air Volume units, Package Units, ...etc), VFD, generators, fuel distribution, potable water treatment, domestic water pumping, fire suppression, fire alarms, site perimeter gates and actuators, associated digital and analog sensors, fiber optics, signal cabling and digital transmission associated with the automated building systems.
  • Sets up and validates controllers' programs and configuration, and provides periodic reviews/updates of system setups and control set points.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on the HVAC Control System and related components to maintain system operation and reliability to ensure uninterrupted power and continuous air supply to critical facilities, equipment and systems.
  • Maintains microprocessors (upload, replacement of hardware, reprogramming, battery replacements, running program diagnostics, communication with manufacturer representatives, troubleshooting faults, testing, replacement, and cleaning).
