  • My student teaching experience working with eighth graders at John R. Gerritts Middle School was a pivotal part of my journey as an educator.
  • Initially uncertain about working with older students, I quickly grew in confidence and found joy in teaching eighth-grade students.
  • This experience allowed me to broaden my perspective, particularly in teaching higher grades, and helped me understand the unique developmental needs and capabilities of middle school learners.
  • I implemented engaging lesson plans, fostered meaningful connections with students, and witnessed their growth.
  • I also gained insight into the classroom dynamics of middle school, building skills in classroom management, and curriculum adaptation.
  • Ultimately, this experience reinforced my ability to teach a diverse range of ages, and prepare students for their next academic steps.
