I am graduating from East Tennessee State University with Magna Cum Laude this upcoming May of 2024. I am majoring in Early childhood Education licensure with a minor in Psychology. I have been student teaching at John F. Kennedy Elementary (JFK) in Kingsport City Schools since July 2023. At JFK, I learned how to be attentive, adaptable and skilled in classroom operations. I have also learned how to provide effective student feedback that promotes growth and allows for lesson plans that address individual strengths and weaknesses. Dedicated and motivated to encourage student growth through carefully monitored academic progress. I believe that when working with children, you must be educated in all aspects of their development and understand the 'why' to their decisions and actions. I chose this path because not only do I want to be a teacher, I want to be able to understand children individually and meet them where they are and help get them to where they need to be. That is why my reason for becoming a teacher is to be be dedicate and motivated to encourage student growth, build relationships with parents, and to never give up.
