My duties as a Member Engagement Specialist include community service, recreation management, and facility maintenance. Being proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). I answer all member/potential member inquiries and direct them to the appropriate Directors if needed. I handle cash and credit card transactions. I am also put in regular trainings that test response time and accuracy in emergency situations such as drowning or cardiac arrest. I have obtained my CPR, and AED certifications from the Channel Islands YMCA Association.

I’ve been a Park Host at Cachuma Lake Campground where my duties included overseeing the facilitation of cabins/yurts, grounds maintenance, collaboration with other hosts/personnel, training other hosts, and use of effective communication skills by answering customer service inquiries to guests within the park. I also worked at Live Oak Campground where my duties included the opening/closing of the park gates in the mornings and evenings. I was responsible for checking in event coordinators and giving instruction on facility and outdoor venue usage. I performed grounds keeping, clean up, and minor cosmetic work to ensure quality of outdoor/indoor setting (painting, tree work, fence/picnic table repair). I have experience working at Toro Canyon Park as well. I am responsible for opening and closing the park gates in the mornings and evenings. I display reservation management skills when a Park Ranger isn't within the park to remind event coordinators of rules and regulations of the park. I do maintenance work on ground facilities and keep the outdoor environment tidy through tree trimming, minor landscaping, watering, plant transplant, clean up, and cosmetic repairs (graffiti removal, paint, picnic table repair). I patrol the park in a county vehicle and remind guests of closure times/proper protocol. I report incidents to the Supervising Ranger or Authorities when necessary.
