In my previous work as a Summer School Intern at Taunton Public Schools I have demonstrated leadership and creative teaching methods. With experience from babysitting as well as coaching, I excel in communication and time management skills, which positively impacts children's development across diverse settings. I plan on bringing all of these skills into my classroom to provide the best and most engaging education for young students.
I have been babysitting since 2019 for two different families. The children I have watched range from ages 2 to 10 years old. While babysitting I typically try to engage with the children in age appropriate both educational and enjoyable activities.
This was my third year participating in the Taunton Public Schools Summer School Internship. THis year I was again placed with a first grade class where I was able to observe a lead teacher and assist student in a variety of ways during the school day.
I coached young children from ages
18 months to 7 years old in soccer
and basketball. While doing this I followed a developmentally appropriate curriculum for each class. I also lead birthday
a variety of birthday party activities
such as flag football, dodgeball, basketball, Wiffle ball, and nerf games.
In the summer of 2022, I
participated another internship with
Taunton Public Schools. This year I
got placed in a first-grade classroom
with about 15 students. This
second year of the internship was much more
hands-on for me. The teacher I was
placed with taught me so much,
and even let me lead and teach the
class by myself a number of times.
I participated in an internship for
Taunton Public Schools, where I
receive the opportunity to be a
teacher's assistant in a first-grade
classroom. Some of the students
were recommended to be there,
while others were there by choice
for extra enrichment. I got to assist
in teaching the class in small
groups, as well as playing games
and reading with the children.
