This was a bedside monitoring hospital with continuous vital monitoring and telemetry. Levophed and tykosyn were medications worked with to name a few. Each day the nurse and hospitalist would round together with each other.

Care for unstable patients related to respiratory failure and cardiac complications caused by Covid virus. Many of my patients ended up on Ventilators. My ICU nurse role included bedside assist with intubation, setting up all things related to arterial lines, central Venous catheters, Mauhker placement. Many procedures took place at bedside. Learning critical care medications such as norepinephrine, versed, fentanyl, precedex to name a few. ICU nurses work side by side with RT, PT/OT, and pharmacy. Daily rounding on patients included the entire department to formal present our patients in group setting.

Also my time spent in the ICU I trained the incoming techs. Both in person class and hands-on approach was used in teaching new ICU techs.

Focus on admission and discharges for the unit. Providing patient and family education. I work well with the staff both nurse and non license to help run our day. I do a lot of bed assignments communicating with the supervisor all while staying professional. There are many times coordinating with the Case managers and secretary to follow through and making patient room assignments and Plan of care goals. The Charge Nurse is responsible for environmental rounding, fall audits, responding to emergencies, Assisting LPNs, chart checks, safety huddle with on-coming shift. Overall, I provide a positive influence for the shift.
