I have been working with kids since I, myself was a kid. I have had the opportunity to see diverse learning and different teaching tactics through my own education, being a military brat and moving from state-to-state, and through experience tutoring elementary students and teaching preschool, as well as student teaching. I have helped develop lesson plans, made accomodations and modifications for students, created activities that go hand-in-hand with standards and units, and I have great communication skills that enable me to work with different teams and parents. I am a firm believer in student-centered learning and differentiated instruction to make sure all students are learning. I am very hard working and driven to support my students and families. I believe a teacher learns from his/her students as much as the students learn from the teacher. I believe all students can succeed.

I love children engaging and learning about the world around them, one of the most important reasons as to why children's books are created today. I wanted children to learn more about their colors in the outside world they see around them, but also implemented ABC practice throughout the book as well. For example, the little boy in my story saw a green grasshopper and a blue beetle. My book's purpose was to not only have children learn their letters and colors, but also engage in exploring the environment around them, learning from environmental print, and creating community ties.
