This opportunity to work as an emergency assessment counselor would be the next step in my career as a future LPC. Working at ABH over the last 9+ months, I not only have found the environment I love but also found my passion. As I enter into my forth semester of my graduate program I am eager to learn and provide support to our patients and join the counselors team. This opportunity to be pushed to become the person God created me to be, I would be truly grateful and honored. I am grateful for not only ABH as a whole but the Urgent Care team. Working as a BHT, I work closely with our assessment team already. I know my schooling is not finished, but with it being a consistent process and being completely online, this would be doable to work these evening/night shifts and continue on the path of my Master's Degree, while providing assessments for patients.
My experience as a CPT has greatly impacted my knowledge of mental health. At BBC we have one on one sessions with our members to speak about goals and prioritize so many things for them. This is when I realized physical health with much more about mental health than anything. I use my mental health knowledge and education almost more than my physical fitness training as a trainer. This has been great at understanding the importance and priority mental health has on a persons well being.
