  • I took the leadership of a failing and neglected restaurant, which had been without a general manager for 3 years, and helped put it back on the path to profitability.
  • When I started, the restaurant had a district low GLI of -41%. When I left, I had boosted the GLI to a district leading 95.5%. That is over a 135 percentage point increase. This was accomplished by intensely focusing on Customer Service and basic operations. We did not have a large volume, so we ensured that our customer had the best experience we could offer.
  • I recruited, hired, and trained over half the staff. The better-trained and more efficient staff reduced labor costs by 2%.
  • We created a fun and collaborative working environment where employees were happy to come to work, We would often socialize outside of work.
  • I extensively marketing the city of Waupun. I stopped by every business in Waupun every 2 months. Waupun only has 11,000 people. I worked closely with charities, churches, schools, and Government entities to sell catering and increase deliveries and buffet sales.

Then we would decide to either return them to the original home, find them a new home, stay with us for the rest of the term, or have them deported.
