Throughout middle school, I have tutored elementary students in grades 1st–5th in English, Math, and Science.
Every year the Portuguese Hall in Point Loma host the Festa, where courts of people gather and walk in pride and honor of our Portuguese heritage in big dresses and fancy attire. The last three years I have helped plan and organize the gatherings.
I was a part of ASB in middle school for two years. In eighth grade, I was selected as president. Throughout my year, I worked with my fellow classmates, staff, and the whole school community to provide a happier environment to learn and thrive.
Roosevelt IB Middle School requires 8th graders who want to receive an International Baccalaureate certificate to complete a community project. I chose to focus on women's rights and organized a bake sale, which she exceeded her anticipated goal for, and then donated all the money to the SD Women's Foundation.
My father was the lead creator and manager of the homeless outreach at Grace Church and I helped out with this every Sunday for years. During covid we had a food truck we drove to downtown and made burritos for homeless.
