• Advocacy: Protecting the rights of Indian children in court and ensuring they are placed with suitable families or in Indian foster homes.
• Case Management: Assisting families in reunification, attending court hearings, and providing support and referrals to seek counseling or other services that bring overall support.

• My duties consisted of working with the tribal courts to request court orders for DNA testing to establish paternity/locating & collecting the samples/sending them off for processing/reporting to DHSS Vital Statistics when paternity was established/petitioning the tribal courts for a withholding orders. Here are some details of this objective:
• Assisting parents in opening child support cases
• Reviewing financial information to determine appropriate child support amounts
• Enforcing child support orders through legal action if necessary
• Communicating with parents, employers, and legal representatives
• Maintaining accurate records and updating case information as needed
• Conducting investigations to locate absent parents
• Collaborating with other agencies to ensure children and families receive needed services
• Providing education and resources to help parents understand their child support obligations and rights
• Ongoing monitoring of child support cases to ensure compliance with court orders and adjustments when necessary

• Increase support for fathers (& non-custodial Fathers) with Parenting challenges to increase healthy activity between parents & children. Perform home visitations that lessen stresses & challenges to parenting & increase the fathers' usage of community support services. Preformed workshops for fathers in increasing the responsibility of parenting through our Native American Fatherhood Workshop. Financial Literacy was taught to fathers & families which helped families to effectively budget & avoid predatory lenders.
• Provide one-on-one weekly and group mentor ship to help fathers enhance parenting and co-parenting skills (as needed). Support fathers in identifying goals and creating action plans for family and personal development.
• Attend community outreach events to recruit fathers and connect them to program services. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and agencies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources (employment, housing, legal aid, mental health, etc.).Provide information, referrals, and advocacy to fathers to help achieve identified goals

Father support worker: I brought support to fathers in the community through home visitation & helped them secure a wholesome relationship between the father & their children. Held fatherhood workshops to secure fathers in utilizing what is in their communities ie. TANF, Assistance & other related services.
