Harrison ONeill

• Direct and oversee all aquatics facilities, programs, and services, including pools, instructional programs, recreational swimming, and special events
• Develop, implement, and evaluate aquatics policies, procedures, and emergency action plans
• Ensure facilities meet or exceed local, state, and national health, safety, and aquatic industry standards
• Oversee scheduling, programming, and facility usage to maximize participation and operational efficiency

Risk Management & Safety

• Lead risk assessment, mitigation, and loss-prevention efforts related to aquatics operations
• Develop and implement safety protocols, incident response procedures, and accident reporting systems
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and coordinate with University leadership, legal counsel, and insurance representatives as needed
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, CDC, and other applicable regulatory requirements

Staff Leadership & Training

• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate professional staff, lifeguards, instructors, and student employees
• Ensure all recreation staff maintain required certifications (e.g., lifeguarding, CPR/AED, first aid)
• Conduct ongoing training related to safety, emergency response, customer service, and risk awareness

-Overseeing the setup and maintenance of satellite communication systems used for coordinating artillery operations, including radios and data links, in ways of VSAT, RADAR, or MUOS

-Working with other units to ensure effective communication for fire support missions

-Training junior Marines in communication procedures, equipment operation, and tactical application of artillery support.

-Participating in planning and executing fire support mission plans

-Analyzing and managing data related to fire missions, including coordinates and target information, to ensure precise artillery strikes.

-Providing guidance and support to help Marines develop both personally and professionally.

-Overseeing the lifeguard team, ensuring that all staff are vigilant and performing their duties effectively.

-Leading rescue efforts in case of emergencies, including administering first aid or CPR as needed.

-Continuously monitoring the water and surrounding areas for potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

-Engaging with patrons to provide information about safety rules and addressing any questions or concerns.

-Maintaining clear communication with staff and management, especially during emergencies or operational changes.

-Enforcing facility rules and regulations to promote a safe environment for all patrons.
