  • I am currently a third-year categorical pediatric resident
  • Expected date of graduation: 06/30/2025
  • In addition to being a medical resident, I am a member of the “advocacy leadership track”.
  • My scholarly project will involve a QI project that pertains to the medical care of children with medical complexity. This project will help understand the barriers to accessing outpatient therapies facing families of medically complex children and formulate ways to help them navigate these difficulties.

  • This resulted in an increasing passion of caring for underserved communities.

  • American University of Beirut Medical Center, Lebanon, 06/2019, 06/2022, I worked alongside Doctor Hala Tfayli (Pediatric Endocrinologist) on a retrospective cohort study to determine whether the 2011 NHLBI pediatric lipid screening guidelines were being implemented in children and adolescents aged 9-18 years old in the outpatient department and private clinics in Beirut at AUBMC. Status: Unpublished, data collection and analysis stage.
  • American University of Beirut Medical Center, Lebanon, 05/2019, 03/2020, I completed an “Evidence Based Medicine” workshop tutored by Doctor Mona Nabulsi. Role: Learned to critically appraise scientific articles, extract scientific information through databases for research purposes, and to improve my medical management accordingly.
  • McGovern Medical School, 08/2022, current, I am a participating member in three QI projects: Improving Teen Reproductive Health Care in the Pediatric Emergency Department Preventing CLABSI on pediatric wards Understanding the barriers to ancillary medical care such as therapies facing families of children with medical complexities at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital (Principal Investigator) (Done as a part of my leadership track).

    -Volunteered in the pediatric floors and emergency department. -Interviewed and examined patients in the family medicine clinics. -Interacted with a diversity of cases with patients from different backgrounds.

  • Ajialouna, Beirut, Lebanon, 04/2017, 05/2017, I examined and participated in the management of underserved children, women, and elderly in Beirut at a non-profit organization.
  • American University of Beirut Medical Center, Beirut, Lebanon, 09/2021, 10/2021, I participated in the COVID-19 vaccination administration and post-administration monitoring for individuals who received the vaccine at the AUBMC.
  • American University of Beirut Medical Center, Beirut, Lebanon, 04/2020, 06/2020, I was one of the first people to volunteer at the newly established COVID-19 clinics in Beirut. I was involved with examination of patients presenting with symptoms of COVID-19, doing PCR tests, higher level of care referral, and management of patients.
  • Houston Food Bank, Houston, TX, 01/11/2023, 05/17/2023, I volunteered twice as a pediatric resident at the food bank in Houston. I helped prepare and package meals for families in need.
