Summary

Throughout all of my years of school, I always wanted to look for that one class that stook out to me and one where I actually learned something from it, and that's when I found it in Forensics. When I start middle school, I had a big obsession with reading suspense/horror books. At first, I had really big nightmares that completely prevented me from sleeping, but as I got older, I was used to it and just brushed it off like nothing ever happened. When I first heard about Forensics and found out that it was about solving crimes, I was immediately drawn into it and started watching a lot of crime and medical related shows. Although I'm not entirely sure on doing it as an actual career, I still want it to be considered as a side job. When I started this class, every single unit that I did completely drew me in and I learned a lot more than I thought I was going to. I did a lot of projects involving me participating with a group of other people and they treated me like I actually belong and they were clear enough for me to understand. Every day when I learned something new, I was able to interpret that information in everyday life with my family and they were stunned to see how much I enjoyed it and never seen me so into a class before. After two years in a community college, I plan on going to Sam Houston to explore the Forensics department and see what it's like. I have been improving my social skills for a very long time, and I know that I will able to overcome those problems. Even though I still tend to get flashbacks to the times when I got really embarrassed just because I couldn't talk, I know that I can still make the community a better place by helping those with social problems.

  • On every Friday or other day when I went to the food bank either at Galveston County or in front of a church. I meet up with a bunch of other kids around my age and wait for the people in charge to tell us what to do. When at the church, there are a bunch of cars in a line and there are a lot of fruits, vegetables, and water that we sometimes put in bags and there has to be a certain number of fruits in each bag and what fruit can go with what according to the leaders. Some of us stand in a line and wave and smile to those driving in the line to give them a better welcome when coming in. At Galveston County, we are in a room with food from other grocery stores and large boxes of fruits and vegetables and I always spent hours of bagging the same amount of vegetables and putting them in other boxes, as well as asking the other adults there if there is anything else that I can do when there are no more vegetables to bag like putting other food such as bakery and other foods in shopping carts and once again putting them in peoples' cars. When walking in, I always put gloves on and ask the leaders what I can do since that every other station is full, but I still find other open stations such as making sure that certain boxes of food such as salads are not past their expiration date. For every day when I do the volunteer hours, we keep going until there are no more cars and we all go home. Towards Christmas time, I volunteered with the same group to pass out water and gatorade to the people running in the Santa marathon in Galveston from when the race starts and when it ends.

Skills

  • Clear communication: Ever since I was younger, I always refused to talk to people that I have never met, to the point where I just never left the house and only communicated with my family As I got older, I realized that a life with no voice is a life with no purpose When I say a voice, I don't mean the voice in your head, I mean the voice that comes out of your mouth
  • Availability for varied schedules: Weekends are very flexible for me On weekdays I'm available at 12:00 PM and longer
  • Skilled in resolving conflicts: I want to be able to help those who are going through difficult times in their lives and help them realize that they can't let the bad memories get in the way of making good memories Most importantly, I want to help those who are struggling to speak up in public and help them realize that they are not the only ones not being able to talk to anyone and get anywhere in life
  • Engaging presentation skills: I always had this fear of being watched every time when I'm doing something When I'm in school and I'm doing an assignment, the teacher is walking and when the teacher stops when he/she is next to me, I automatically freeze and don't keep doing what I was doing until they leave I know that I'll be able to overcome that fear once and for all when I'm working with other people that I've never met
  • Strong interpersonal engagement: I always like to help other people who are feeling down and help them realize that there is always a bright side in anything and everything that you do When I was younger, I always felt so lonely to the point where I felt like there was no purpose of me being in this environment and there was no one I could talk to Now that I'm older, I see other people my age that reminded me of exactly how I was when I was a kid I want to be that person that is always open to talk to when facing difficult times and let them know that I was one of them too I see myself as a very understanding person and I know I can improve people's feelings mentally no matter how long it takes
  • Prioritization and scheduling: I have always been very protective of my personal belongings even if it doesn't look like a big deal to some people like touching my favorite albums or my phone even if they weren't asking to see it When it comes to scheduling, as long as I'm marking my own calendar of certain events, I'm always heads up no matter what

Interests

Ever since I was 10 years old, I was introduced to the K-pop world I remembered sitting on the couch at home listening to the same boring and dirty American pop songs over and over again feeling like there was no other music in the world besides American pop It wasn't until I listened to Dynamite from BTS to the first time and that's when everything changed When I was about 12-13 years old, I became obsessed with BTS to the point where I refused to listen to anything and anyone else but them I didn't listen other groups, but BTS completely took my mind by storm Since 2024 and 2025, I started joining many other K-pop fandoms and listened to thousands of other K-pop songs that once again completely became a feast for my ears K-pop basically became my whole personality and I couldn't imagine how mentally miserable I would be without the voices of my favorite idols singing to me to the point where it felt like they were actually talking to me I always had one dream where I would open my own K-pop merch store and have it as a side job while I focus on an actual career that can earn me a living I have been coming back and forth to Violet for as long as I can remember when looking for an album or any other type of merch that I have always wanted, and I always felt like I was familiar with where everything is Suggestions that I would is sorting the albums not just be female or male, but also in alphabetical order, adding k-pop themed clothing like shirts or hoodies, make a list of not just lighsticks but albums of certain groups that are out of stock, other household objects like mugs, school supplies, and objects that people can sometimes use at concerts I have been having singing as a hobby ever since I was about 8 years old, making me that one girl who is always singing and won't ever keep quiet I know that this store doesn't just sell K-pop related stuff and also anime stuff, but I just wanted to give some of my personal suggestions from other k-pop merch stores I've been to In my free time, I like to do K-pop dances, match K-pop mvs or any other K-pop related content, buy K-pop merch, schedule for any tours that interest me, reading books, doing medical research, watch crime or med shows, hanging out with my friends, and singing karaokes

Extracurricular activities

I have been in choir since last year and I will continue it next year when I graduate. My entire life, I always wanted to search for that one community where people treated me like I actually belonged. At first I thought I found it in band, but choir changed that. I will never forget that day when I went to see my section and NONE of the kids dared to say hi to me or even introduce me to everyone else, not even the seniors or the kids my age. None of the kids welcomed me with open arms, not even the people in my own section. I was exposed to so much face to face as well as cyberbullying to the point where I felt like there is no purpose of my being in band. Getting out of band was one of the best decisions I have ever made and joining choir was the best decision I ever made. The people all smiled and welcomed me with open arms even when I haven't met them and they haven't me and I didn't feel afraid to expose my voice not just from talking to them, but also singing music with them and competing in competitions. Because of choir, I now have even more courage to use my voice when needing help with something or when I just need someone to talk to, to make me feel like people actually care about my existence.
