  • Responsible for the material condition and engineering status of the patrol boat class cutters (154’ Fast Response Cutters and 87’ Marine Protector) in the Pacific North West District. Responsibilities include conducting material condition assessment of cutters, Contracting Officer Representative (COR) during Dry Dock periods, supporting engineering operations with Cutters, and continue to learn as a Naval Engineer. Completed COR Level II certification.
  • Conducted routine inspections of patrol boats, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop technical documentation and maintenance manuals for vessel operations.
  • Developed comprehensive maintenance plans to optimize vessel uptime and minimize downtime.

  • Monitored vessel operations to ensure safety and compliance with maritime regulations.
  • Boarding Team Member: Conducted 70+ boardings and contributing to CGC Oliver Berry’s 100 violations in the Oceania District.
  • Began the process as a Naval Engineer, learning how to properly operate the cutter and maintain upkeep of the cutter machinery systems.

Experience as an Engineer

  • As a Mechanical Engineering student, team member of senior capstone project tasked with creating a compact exercise device to be used for small afloat units such as Naval submarines or Coast Guard patrol boats. We utilized the engineering planning system to create an initial prototype and present to various Coast Guard members and CGA cadets.
  • As a Deck Watch Officer, began working as an cutter engineer, learning the mechanics of the cutter propulsion system and electrical system. Gained increased understanding of the cutter’s pump systems and how to properly repair critical machinery required for safe operation of the cutter. Learned the Naval Engineering process for cutters, the dry docking and dock side process, and the economical sides of the engineering community.
  • As a Port Engineer, conducted three material condition assessments on 87’ foot patrol boats, board member on the preliminary acceptance trial board to acquire a new Fast Response Cutter, and began assisting with dry dock in Port Angeles, WA for an 87’ patrol boat.
