Security Guard/Supervisor

Allied Universal
11.2019 - 09.2022
  • I obtained my California guard card and this is the result the site that I was assigned to was actually at the Ontario airport, I worked for the UPS Ontario Airport at one of the main entrance gates that they had open there my roles and duties for that time often varied and constantly changed depending on the special type of loads or apple products that we had coming in on trailers.
  • We were to log in all sorts of trucks and vendors, contractors, inspectors, sometimes even law enforcement, you name it.
  • We had a lot of undercover activity there, specifically in one of the warehouse's I worked there at gate 3 for a while until I was looked at and brought up as a supervisor and I learned a lot during that time and I believe that experience will help me to transition into any management or leadership position.
  • My duties as a supervisor was to respond to work calls, which were plentiful mind you to respond to any calls that were received over the phone that we had to keep on us, to give breaks and lunches to all of the 15 gates that we had to manage with over 50 guards at one given time which was a lot to juggle on a day to day basis.
  • It was definitely challenging but personally, I like when I'm pushed up against a wall or a corner faced up against a challenge it forces me to adapt and overcome. To use my brain to figure out whatever I need to figure out to then solve it and go forward onto the next problem that I need to face. I couldn't have any downtime to just breathe.
  • I always had to be moving because there was always something that I needed to do. Someone was always depending on me to relieve them. I also dealt with a few of the higher ups there as well at UPS which I then had to act professional and drive them to wherever they wanted to go. I requested to work at a few more sites and posts after this to see what else was out there. Those are just a few of many examples of what was required of me as supervisor when I was there until I inevitably left to pursue the same thing just somewhere else.

Security Dispatcher

Triton Global Services
01.2019 - 10.2019
  • So here I had to do something different to where I am on a computer for my whole shift which was a nice change of pace from being out in the field. Pretty much doing the same thing as a supervisor would do I'm just sitting at a desk in the office. Having to do a lot more entries on SilverTrac which is a software application that we use and responded to calls from the different sites we had and call offs that I was directly involved with.
  • I was familiar with doing the scheduling. I would have to go out in the field if there was nobody else available as a last ditch effort to then do patrols or routes whatever was needed to be done for that specific site. This is when I knew that security wasn't for me.

Courtesy Clerk

10.2015 - 05.2018
  • This was the job I got straight out of high school and it taught me discipline and time management.
  • It was for sure different and a bit of a surreal experience and a culture shock for me but I really enjoyed mytime the 3 years I was there.
  • It made me realize just how important customer service really is and if you treat other people with kindness and respect then odds are they will do the same to you.
  • At the end of the day, making them happy and them wanting to spend their money at our establishment is why we all have jobs, and that applies to everywhere just not in retail.
  • Some of my duties consisted there of sweeping isles, cleaning up spills, cleaning up the parking lot, pushing carts back into their corrals, cleaning up the meat department at the end of the day, of course bagging up groceries, putting away go backs, and cleaning up and making sure that the bathrooms were presentable for the customers.

Accomplishments

I was recruited to Massachusetts specifically to Boston to play a video game called League of Legends to play on an Esports team for Bay State College in 2019.

I came into the program with high hopes. With the promises of me being the team captain and having my other teammates be just as skilled as I was. Alongside having a co captain and having a head coach present at the actual college not just being remote from Texas. Unfortunately none of that came true, but in the beginning I was living the dream and I was hopeful, so I gave the college the benefit of the doubt so I waited to give them some time to fix it so I stayed for a couple of semesters. But with my high hopes and the slew of broken promises, I was ultimately let down and decided to leave to go back home to California.
