Hayley Olson

I am passionate about Education, not only educating students but more importantly consistently educating myself to be the best I can be for those said students. It is important to me to collaborate with other educators as well as the parents of my students, we are all one team. I can be counted on to get things done in an organized and punctual fashion. I am a strong multi-tasker, knowing how to prioritize my tasks to complete all to the best ability. I feel strongly about helping people, of all ages, everyone deserves compassion and care. My personality is calm and welcoming, which is important when creating rapport between my students as well as the staff.

• Throughout High School I was very involved with extracurriculars, I was: on the Basketball and Track team, President of the Junior Class, Secretary of the Senior Class, President of the Student Council, and Treasurer of the National Honor Society. While being involved in extracurriculars I earned Straight A Honor Roll and was awarded Presidential Academic Honors at graduation.
• I graduated Northland Community & Technical College with a 3.78 GPA and Presidential Academic Honors.
• During time my time at Bemidji State University I have maintained a 3.7-4.0 GPA, as well as being inducted into the National Honor Society.

Kindergarten Classroom:

• Collaborated with the teacher regarding new ideas, research, and lesson plans.
• Worked one-on-one with students.
• Performed my reading lessons with the class.
• Performed individual assessments, as well as classroom assessments, with help from the teacher.

1st Grade:

• Collaborated with the teacher regarding her experiences and practices, as well as exchanged new ideas.
• Aided with one-on-one and whole-class work.
• Facilitated a Science Unit, including five days of different lessons.

2nd Grade:

• Collaborated with my mentor regarding her practices, especially covering the Science of Reading that she uses in her classroom.
• Worked with students one-on-one and whole-class work.
• Performed reading activities with students one-on-one, as well as in small groups.
• Facilitated Read Aloud lessons.

5th Grade:

• Collaborated with my mentor regarding her studies, practices, and experiences within education and her classroom.
• Facilitated Math Lessons with small groups.
• Facilitated Science Lessons with large groups.
• Worked one-on-one with students on their coursework.
