Summary

I have recently turned 15 and I am seeking my first paid casual position.

I am a motivated and reliable Year 9 student at Emmaus College in Vermont South, seeking a job to develop skills and gain workplace experience.

I have completed barista and customer service certificates through school, which have given me a start in hospitality and communication.

Through my involvement in competitive representative and national basketball, I have developed strong teamwork, discipline, and time management skills, which I apply both in sport and in everyday life. I enjoy working hard, learning new things, and contributing positively to any team I am part of. However, I am now taking a break from competitive basketball as I am able to apply for my first casual job, which is my current goal.

Work History

Work Experience

Control-A-Pest

Control-A-Pest is a family business, originally created by my Grandparents and then passed down to my Father. Through the past couple of years, I have been fortunate to gain work experience through assisting him both on-site and in the office, understanding the complexities and hard work that is required of a small business.

  • I have assisted with equipment preparation and cleaning, job organisation and planning, on-site support and professional behaviour, learning responsibility, safety management, and clear communication with both staff and customers.

Work Experience

Network Energy Services (NES)

Network Energy Services (NES) is my Step-Mum's family business and I have been able to gain work experience in her business, which is predominantly an in-house office based business. This was a different experience for me as I was amongst a team of 25 staff and this has taught me a different skill set. Some of the skills I have learnt include:

  • I developed teamwork, accuracy, and adaptability by completing tasks on time and supporting others, such as filing, re-organising filing structures, and preparing postage material.
  • These experiences built my confidence and taught me the value of reliability and working well in a team. It was also a wonderful experience being part of a team and having a can-do, helping attitude and how appreciated that is.
