As a cadet in good standing with my squadron, I have endeavored to make the best of the opportunities afforded to me over my three years in the program. As a lower-ranking enlisted, I learned the program's core values and the importance of taking orders. As a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), I began my leadership journey, and now I am a senior officer serving as Cadet Deputy Commander for Operations and a past Cadet Commander. Throughout my CAP career thus far, I have developed and/or increased my confidence and ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. I have also been provided incredible opportunities few get to experience, such as learning to fly with no personal cost other than a lot of time studying.
Throughout my farm experience, I've gained skills in problem-solving, time management, work layout, and using machinery, while striving for perfection and going outside my comfort zone. I've gained the necessary skills for training inexperienced people on a farm where stewardship, excellence, efficiency, and critical thinking are expected. All of this has cumulated into my strongest and most widely applicable virtue: that of work ethic.
