• Responsible for all elements of the nursing process when providing direct patient care.
• Advocates for the veterans. Their needs, safety, and what is best to keep them safe and prevent harm.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates direct patient care
• Administers all medications and procedures per policies and guidelines.
• Ability to identify a change in a patient's condition and report changes to charge nurse/ on call provider.
• Assumes responsibilities for the coordination of care, patient and family education, patients self
management after discharge, and supporting factors that supports customer satisfaction.
• Obtain lab draws in the mornings
• Collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to plan, manage and assess
patient's plan of care.
• Able to distinguish between normal and abnormal changes in acute, critical, and chronic illness as well
as assess urgent and emergent health conditions.
• Provide direct patient care. Assess, observe and continue to monitor patients during their hospital stay.
• Administer medications, complete dressing changes on wounds, monitor vital signs, monitor labs and
chart with timely documentation.
• Educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits, while providing a supportive and
compassionate environment.
•Provides quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, and
freedom of choice.
• Collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to plan, manage and assess
