• Deliver remote clinical supervision to students in the graduate nursing FNP program.
• Provide feedback on SOAP notes or other required assignments to aid in the promotion of clinical experiences, advocating reflective practice.
• Advise and assists students in a variety of modalities, including videoconference, phone, email, or through other Carson-Newman University approved communication modality.
• Provide relevant and timely feedback on submitted student work.
• Approve submissions of clinical hours and patient logs.
• Maintain ongoing, professional, clear, and consistent communication with students, Preceptors, Course Instructors, and coordinators, Program Director, and others as necessary through email, telephone calls, text message, and/or virtual meetings.
• Serve on committee for master students Advanced Practice Project or Thesis.

Provide holistic, compassionate, comprehensive high-level primary care from childhood to geriatric population with my own patient load, as well as, patients enduring acute and chronic comorbidities of my supervising physician and other physicians within the practice.

• Provided comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including physical examinations, health assessments, and immunizations.
• Reviewed patient's medical history and laboratory data for abnormalities and completeness and delivered informed follow-up.
• Create, modify, explain, and educate treatment modalities and care plans to patients and caregivers while following evidence-based protocols/guidelines.
• Educate and promote healthy nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.
• Attended continuing education courses to stay current on best practices within the field of nursing.
• Order and interpret routine lab work and radiologic testing, depending on diagnosis or differential.
• Prescribe mediations and monitored progress for effectiveness of treatment.
• Collaborated with physicians in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
• Manage necessary screening and vaccinations based on current guidelines and protocols.

Provide detail-oriented life-saving care averaging 40+ patients daily from infants to geriatrics in an urgent care setting. Work autonomously as the only provider on site in a fast pace setting while assessing, diagnosing and treating patients from acute illnesses, accidents and injuries. Other duties include but not limited to the following:

• Perform physical exams from well/sick exams along with sports physicals and pre-employment exams
• Perform DOT physicals
• Collaborate with colleagues, other disciplinary teams and supervising Physician as deemed necessary
• Order, evaluate and review diagnostic labs and radiology testing as well as interpret results and referral if needed
• Prescribe medication appropriate to diagnosis and treatment
• Assist nursing staff with their duties as time allows such as triaging patients, Rapid Covid/Flu/Strep/RSV/Mono testing, UAs, IM injections and phlebotomy
• Deliver procedural care such as: laceration repair from simple to intermediate, suture removal, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, cerumen impaction removal, start IV/INTs and administration of drugs/fluids, strapping and casting of orthopedics
• 12 Lead EKG interpretation and treatment
• Ability to recognize an emergency situation and respond within guidelines of ACLS/PALS protocols along with alerting 911 for transfer if needed
• Deliver high quality and compassionate care treatment to indigent and low-income patients and families
• Manage patients autonomously and independently evidenced by strong clinical skills and critical thinking
• Maintain HIPAA compliance while also being the patient advocate

Cardiac Stress Lab (Inpatient and Outpatient Facilities) for 13 years:

• Provided exceptional care while performing different modalities of cardiac stress testing autonomously within cardiac protocols given by cardiologists and ACC guidelines. Applied and scanned holter and event recording monitors along with editing results for Cardiologist review. Worked in an outpatient and inpatient setting responsible for patient assessments while utilizing critical thinking skills and knowledge of up-to-date ACC guidelines for cardiac stress testing protocols. Ability to recognize, treat, and respond to arrhythmias and 12-Lead EKG. Ability to access port lines and start IVs. Assisted Echocardiography Technicians as needed for bubble studies and injection of ultrasound contrast agents for testing.
