I have worked in healthcare, 35yrs, retail for 10 and drove Quade axle dump truck, and layed sewer and septic pipe. With a family owned construction company. Also own my own in home health care where I provided care, as earlier in my careers, working with state appointed clients who were physically and cognitive disabilities. Attention to detail, and customer service under stress in a fast pace environment is where I thrive.   • Operate day to day operations for a 300k Retail Consignment shop
  • Duties included were opening, closing, supervision of youth and adult employees, ( including scheduling, assign duties daily according to need ).In a fast paced environment a day may include accounts payable, accounts receivable, to give the customers their account information
  • They may bring in a leather jacket they want to sell for a certain amount, we then sell, and put their money into their account
  • While our fee is put into our system
  • Management was also in charge of pricing ,and displaying merchandise
  • Others donated clothes and we sold
  • There were three times a year where we worked with Salvation Army, St,Vincents, and donate the unsold items to make room for new
  • At that time the consignee could opt to pick up unsold items, leave to try to see for another 4 months, or donate
  • Deposits were daily as well and pay days were bi-weekly
  • There was a time when the owners were also renting tuxedos for proms and weddings
  • Unfortunately, the family owned business was devastated by a tornado which took their home, and the owners husband
  • The owner herself was in ICU for several months
  • At that point we, ( her daughters and i, as i was like family and had known them for 1990 ) Decided it best to sell the shop.
