As a Y-Club leader, I helped provide before and after care for students of Westhoff Elementary School. We provided the students with daily lesson, social-emotional activities and exercise routines to keep their minds and bodies healthy and fit. On days school was off, the YMCA provided a "School's Out" day program. I worked Thanksgiving and several days over winter break. The students had activities, games, crafts and swimming provided to them on these days.
Provided in-home and informal care for families on a temporary basis. Tasks included meal preparation, feeding, and medication schedules, helping assist in transports to and from wheelchair, toileting and hygiene.
At the end of the 2025 school year I was selected for the Grow Your Own Teacher Program for Paraprofessionals. Only one Paraprofessional district-wide is given this honor. This program offers me support, financial assistance, mentorship, and helps in guiding me in my path to certification and job placement.
