Cone Health Doula Project
In my capacity as a certified nurse midwife at Cone Health, I lead a project to integrate doulas into our maternal care framework, facilitating their recognition as vital members of the healthcare team and exempt from visitor restrictions. Through a streamlined credentialing process and a community doula training course, we ensured their inclusion and expanded support for birthing patients. Additionally, a volunteer doula program was initiated for high-risk patients, offering personalized support throughout their childbirth journey. Collaborating with community stakeholders such as Every Baby Guilford and the YWCA, we bolstered maternal care initiatives, fostering a culture of inclusivity and support.
