Advocacy Letter for Area Director of Business Development position

I am writing to express my keen interest in the position for Area Director of Business Development, West region. I have a clinical license as an occupational therapy assistant, in addition to my bachelor's degree in healthcare administration. I have sound clinical judgement and experience that is partnered with my thorough understanding of quality standards, marketing, budgeting, and compliance requirements. I have twelve years experience in the health care field. I am going on three years experience as a clinical liaison in the acute rehab setting, and one year as a resource clinical liaison for Lifepoint Health. I know how to build, and nourish a relationship between the patient and the organization, and analyze and understand data to facilitate better key performance indicators. As the Resource Clinical Liaison I have worked in multiple acute rehab units specifically for training new clinical liaisons, analyzing patient through-put, supporting and facilitating a new acute rehab start up, problem solving low referrals and census, and creatively generating marketing ideas.

 I have graduated with honors from Capella University for my Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration with a focus in leadership. I have created presentations and research assignments that demonstrated competencies and knowledge in areas such as patient safety and quality, regulatory agencies, reimbursement cycles, and accreditation requirements. Currently, I am enrolled in Cuyahoga Community College to obtain my Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Management and then sit for my Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) licensure.
