I married in 2003 and gave birth to our first daughter in 2004. I stepped away from the nursing field in order to stay at home with our baby. The topic of my returning to work created enormous conflict within my marriage and therefore I did not return to work or retain my license. In 2017, we divorced with two daughters, ages 12 and 9. Eight months after my divorce, our move and settling into our new life, I enrolled in the RN Renewal Course offered by Baptist Health College as a requirement of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. I completed the course, renewed my RN license, and began working for my local school system as a staff RN in 2019.
