Two years of electrical technology training program, where classroom and hands on training where provided. Four months of vehicle mechanic training, and two years of experience working on military vehicles. Currently earning a certification in electrical technology from Perry Technical Institute.

• Electrical program: Blueprint reading, Theory Residential/commercial installations, Conduit bending, MC cable and Romex, Switches and receptacles, Load Calculations, Motor controls, Programmable logic controllers, Variable frequency drives, Electronics, Three-phase power systems, Transformers, Fluke meter, Aerial lift, CPR first aid, OSHA.
• Military training: Basic military training, Stryker maintainer (vehicle mechanic), Personal financial management, HAZMAT safety transportation, Refrigerant recovery and recycling.
• Performed diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on military mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles. Assisted higher graded mechanics in the repair of major systems to include internal combustion engines, transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls. Made routine repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts and components.
• Used simple test instruments like pressure gauges, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and compression testers to conduct limited diagnostics to identify the root cause of mechanical issues. Identified when work orders need to be completed and parts need to be cleaned, modified, or replaced with standard parts.
• Removed, replaced, adjusted, cleaned and installed wheel seals, switches, sensors, fuel pumps, water pumps, power steering pumps, brakes, filters, radiators, bearings, springs, shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, starter motors, mufflers, battery cables, and other similar complex parts.
• Carried out conventional maintenance and repair tasks in isolated areas that can be completed by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or swapping out broken parts of systems and components with standard parts. Obtained direction to carry out non-routine and more complex repairs on components of big assemblies and/or systems from a higher ranked mechanic or supervisor. Recovered and removed non-operational vehicles.
• Performed limited readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and related equipment. Ensured that vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, hydraulic fluid replacements, greasing, cleaning, and other tasks, by performing preventive maintenance checks and services. Carried out further preventative maintenance procedures as needed to guarantee that the machinery is operating as intended.
• Replaced and removed parts and components from basic communication equipment, including radios, field phones, amplifiers, switchboards, recorders, and intercoms, to perform normal maintenance and minor repairs. Replaced worn-out or damaged parts to carry out normal maintenance and limited repairs on small arms.
