• I'm interested in the investigator position offered by the Metropolitan Public Defender Services. The last several years have allowed me to pursue my bachelor's degree in criminology and sociology and focus on my growing family. In pursuit of my education, I have developed a passion for investigative research and reviewing situations from different angles. I can be self-motivated and extremely resourceful and determined, especially when I know the implications my work has on another person's well-being.
• The criminal justice system was intended to ensure justice is served. Serving justice is a huge responsibility, and being entangled within the criminal justice system can have significant lasting implications.
• In order to serve justice as it is intended, collaborative efforts must be made to ensure the individual who committed the crime is the one being prosecuted and that they are prosecuted and sentenced appropriately. It is critical that a voice is given to every person and they are provided an opportunity to defend accusations with lasting collateral consequences not only on themselves as an individual, but also consequences on their loved ones and the community as well.
• If someone for a crime it is important to make sure the person is the one who committed that crime and they are convicted of the right crime.
