Passionate about incorporating culturally responsive teaching to promote empathy and positive view in cultural differences, especially with students in marginalized communities. Also heavily focused on effective teaching through meeting students at their current academic and emotional level.
Since entering the Elementary Education program, I have worked with different elementary schools and grades every semester. I have worked with grades K, 2, 3, and 5 in four various Title I school settings.
Active in managing a Latin dance company on campus that shares Bachata, a Dominican partner dance, with the local community. We hold free public lessons every week and collaborate with other organizations to spread awareness of Hispanic culture and dance.
