  • Primary roles in this position were Research, Quality Control of Records Management System (RMS), Jail Management System (JMS) Record Challenges, Identity Fraud and Citizen Assistance.
  • A large percentage of this job is research. All of the subjects began with research, to include but not limited to: DMV license and driving transcripts, Criminal Records both Virginia (VCIN), National - FBI (NCIC) and local police agencies. I was also responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the records in our local database, PISTOL. I worked frequently with citizens (both local and out of state) who were victims of Identity Fraud.
  • I worked closely with the jail personnel and the courts - court records in maintaining accurate information for the citizens and for our local records. I also assisted with the maintenance of the Case Files, providing data entry of incoming and out going files, retrieval of files and the storage of files in a secure location.
  • Myself and two other co-workers developed a manual for the training of new personnel. I also worked with the city's ID Card program, issuing of new or inactive ID cards for police employees and volunteers.
  • Maintained Level A certification in VCIN (Virginia Criminal Information Network) and NCIC (National Crime Information Center), CPR and Defensive Driving.
  • Assisted in teaching VCIN/NCIC certification and recertification classes to employees.
  • Trained new employees in various positions within The City of Virginia Beach Police Department - Support Services, by using handmade manuals, powerpoint slides and visiting the various precincts.
  • Frequently work with citizens that are victims of Identity Fraud. Assisting them in the process of clearing their criminal record, court records and their name of fraudulent activity.   • Self Initiated training for my current job position.   • Also included in my with self-initiating was teaching a VCIN/NCIC Certification Class - for Level A and Level B students alongside of another instructor. As well as assisting teaching at various times.
