Henna Hulme

I am a dedicated and versatile elementary school teacher with a deep passion for early childhood education, child development, and collaborative teaching practices. Over the years, I have cultivated a teaching style that blends research-based strategies with creativity, structure, and heart. I take pride in designing and implementing standards-aligned lesson plans that are both engaging and differentiated to meet the diverse needs of my students. Whether I’m introducing foundational literacy skills or exploring new concepts through hands-on activities, my goal is always to inspire a love of learning and support every child’s academic and social-emotional growth.

Building strong, trusting relationships with my students, their families, and my colleagues is at the core of who I am as an educator. I believe that learning thrives in classrooms built on mutual respect, empathy, and consistency. I am skilled in classroom management, and I take a proactive, positive approach to behavior—focusing on clear expectations, student voice, and restorative practices. I use data to inform my instruction and adapt to the unique rhythms of each class and learner, ensuring that I am meeting students where they are and helping them move forward.

In addition to my work in the classroom, I serve as the Children’s Ministry Director at Medina Community Church. In this role, I lead curriculum development, recruit and mentor volunteers, and partner closely with parents to create a safe, welcoming, and faith-centered environment for children. My experience in ministry has sharpened my leadership, communication, and organizational skills, while also deepening my understanding of how to nurture the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

These same values and skills translate beautifully into the art room. I believe that art education is not only about creativity, but also about confidence, problem-solving, self-expression, and joy. As an art teacher, I foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students can explore various media, develop their fine motor and critical thinking skills, and express their unique voices. I guide students through structured projects while also allowing space for imaginative freedom, making art a powerful tool for academic connection and emotional development. My classroom management experience and relational approach help create a calm, focused studio atmosphere where every student feels safe to take creative risks and grow.

Whether in the classroom or the community, I am committed to helping children feel seen, valued, and supported. I bring warmth, enthusiasm, and a reflective mindset to everything I do, and I am always seeking opportunities to grow as a professional and as a person.
