Performing a variety of quality clerical examinations associated with Selection of Tax returns for Automated Audit Review System (STARS). Job duties require use of computer applications LAN, Eview, IDAX, Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, The RACK, and several other Windows, Citrix, and FTB generated programs to assess and resolve tax payer issues regarding their returns. As an employee in STARS, one is required to issue Notices of Proposed Assessment, expedite the return to a specialized desk audit, or conclude the return has been filed correctly.

Filing of confidential and public documents
Public Counter and Telephone services (customer service)
Receiving, distributing, and processing mail
Cashiering incoming funds by way of cash, check, money order, and electronic swiping of credit cards
Processing outgoing letters to clients
Data entry and processing of applications
Clerical support as requested by managment
Inputting and paying bills, resolving and/or adjusting customer accounts, learning and mastering the Medical Fee Schedule, associating codes, answering multi-line phone system and directing their inquiries to the proper individual, researching and finding missing or due bills in the bill queue, operating various computer programs, such as WISP, OUTLOOK, EXCEL, WORD, and ECF, filing and locating claim records as well as various bills and record forms.
Training and developing new bill payers in the "Automated Bill Review" section. This specialized training required a 3-person team of experienced bill payers to come up with completely new training methods for bill payers who were moved to the "ABR" unit due to over staffing and employee redirecting withing State Compensation Insurance Fund.
