  • In this role I worked on various units as assigned. These units included observation, General medicine and step down units. I also precepted new nurses and student nurses. Basic skills included but not limited to medication administration, IV's, infusions, blood transfusions, G-tubes, NG tube placement, wound care/dressing changes, hospice care, diabetes management, CHF management, telemetry monitoring, patient education, communicating patient changes and critical labs with physicians promptly etc.
  • Observation R.N (2022-2024). Observation is a fast paced unit in which I was quickly promoted to a charge nurse. We also managed the boarder patients in the emergency department. This position required being able to manage two units simultaneously (EI and ER boarder). I also often assumed the role as unit secretary simultaneously due to staffing shortages. This unit had a high turnover of patients. We utilized excel for making assignments. I also was required to make patient call backs to follow up after discharge to make sure that the patient was satisfied and understood instructions/follow ups.
