Provide leadership in the department safety agenda.

• Assisting the department laboratory and shop supervisors in implementing ISU safety polices and regulation. Ensure appropriate safety protocols are implemented, properly displayed, and followed.
• Assisting lab PIs with risk, and hazards assessment, risk mitigation, and SOP development.
• Disseminate information published by EH&S to departmental faculty and staff. Acting as a conduit that convey safety information in between the department and the department of EH&S. Help facilitate EH&S safety surveys for all spaces within their administrative control.
• Acting as department representative on the College of Engineering Safety Committee.

In charge of ABE Student Concepts Lab, formally known as ABE Student Innovation Center lab.

• Plan the lab daily activities. Meeting with staff and faculty members to plan term projects. Construct start up model for classes. Setup and procure materials for scheduled activities and provide safety instructions to faculty, staff, and students.
• Provide technical and managerial support for senior and Capstone projects.
• In charge of ABE water jet cutting fee-for-service program. Provide billing information to customer. Submit request for funding transfer. Process service requests. Provide preventive maintenance and ensure system operational status. Supervise undergrad students.

Provide technical support to ABE laboratory equipments.

• Repair and service laboratory instrument.

Oversee building maintenance and expansion projects. Work with FP&M and external vendors to facilitate startup to completion of projects.

Acting as the ABE Cost Center Asset Liaison; making sure department assets are accurately recorded and accountable.

Undergraduate chemistry labs management.

• Working with faculty and staff to discuss experiment schedules, work plans, and equipment requirements.
• Prepare equipment, solutions, and chemicals for upcoming experiments. Maintain and repair equipment and experimental apparatus.
• Provide safety instruction to laboratory instructors, TAs, and students. Ensure safety protocols are properly displayed and and followed.
• Supervise and training laboratory assistants and teaching assistants (TAs) on proper procedure to laboratory instruments.
• Support and assist teaching assistants (TA) and laboratory instructor during experimental session.
• Participate in revise and update experiment protocols for laboratory experiments.
• Develop solutions and protocols to ease with instrumentation usage.
• Assign and coordinate works for undergraduate laboratory assistants.
• Manage general chemistry chemicals and equipment inventory.

• Performed routine preventative maintenance on in-process electrodes and sensors such as pH, density, pressure and temperature.
• Monitor and maintain anaerobic cultures in a methanator bioreactors. Ensure efficient removal of high volatile organic compounds in water treatment system.
• Daily calibration of HPLC, GC, IR Spectrophotography, and ionic exchange chromatography.
