years of professional experience

I started taking dual language in kindergarten and continued with my Spanish education all the way throughout high school. As soon I got into the construction industry I instantly started using it and I believe that alone helped me jumpstart my career. In highschool I learned about the trades and started to seek a career in plumbing and welding. I went to trade school in Waco for plumbing but when Covid hit I droppped out and went straight into the field working for a couple plumbing companies around the hill country. Learned quickly I didn’t love plumbing and knew I always liked the dirt work and heavy machinery. So I applied for a job at a local company where I became a heavy equipment operator and later a commercial driver (Geosource) I left them after 3 years or so for what I thought to be a better opportunity to further my career, at R&S Excavation. I learned a ton from R&S but felt underpaid. I was offered a job working with my friends at Grind Time Rock Milling where i am still learning about surface mining, road milling, and heavy wrenching. We do all of our own maintenance and help mechanics with anything being done on the 100,000lbs + machines.

Work History

Heavy Equipment Operator

11 Months
Grind Time Rock Milling | 09.2025 - Current

I left my job as a superintendent at R&S Excavation to take a step back and join up with a young, promising company and some good men I’ve known for years. At Grind Time I run a Wirtgen 220 SMI surface mining machine. I have gone through numerous hours of training with the manufacturer to be able to train and perform proficiently. I have also become very comfortable and knowledgeable when it comes to grind times other milling machines. Such as Tesmec trenchers/ millers and Fecon milling attachments . I am 100% responsible for daily maintenance on my machine and am hands on help when we get big wrenches and tools out. I also weld pockets back onto our machines when needed, which is almost daily.

Superintendent

1 Year 3 Months
R&S Excavation | 06.2024 - 09.2025

I oversaw the general earth work on 3 large projects around the coastal bend/ Corpus Christi area. My daily duties consisted of planning and logistics of each jobsite. Personally managing about 20 non English speaking guys spread out between sites and helping them in whatever way need to get the job done. I am a proud operator and would take any chance I could to get in a machine, although I typically didn’t have much time do so.

Foreman/ Class A Driver

2 Years 7 Months
Geosource Inc. | 11.2021 - 06.2024

At Geosource I ran an erosion control crew. Typically consisting of myself and maybe 2 other people. Everyday id load up either a pickup truck and gooseneck with a a skid steer or farm tractors to tackle highways erosion control, or I would load a 210 excavator onto a lowboy and i would personally drive to a clearing job. Occasionally I would stay at our yard and run high speed Vermeer grinders and front loaders
