Driven by deep curiosity for scientific research, and a desire to interrogate all aspects of Drosophila Melanogaster. A student investigator with the StanX research program at Lawrenceville, where I collaborated on a research team and mastered a multitude of fly lab skills. Eager to continue greater investigations and provide meaningful results that have real world application.

In collaboration with the Seung Kim Lab at the Stanford School of Medicine, I developed novel transgenic lines of fruit fly to model human disease as part of the StanX program.
Created and successfully executed a crossing scheme to move the SX4 p-element from the X chromosome to chromosomes 2 or 3.
Confirmed the p-element location via iPCR sequencing and primer design.
Dissected larvae and preformed immunostaining to confirm the activity pattern of the transgene.
Created SX40 and SX9, novel driver lines I created which are now apart of the Bloomington stock for researchers use.
SX40 trapped an enhancer on the 2nd chromosome near gene CG5853. However, has a separate expression pattern from the gene being more associated brain lobe, VNC, and Trachea.
SX5 trapped an enhancer on the 2nd chromosome associated with the gene Gbs-70E. This gene is involved in the regulation of glycogen metabolism and could be used to study alcohol use disorder
Presented findings to a group of 60+ students and faculty at an International Student Conference.
