I am a seasoned and experienced RN with extensive history in maternity and the care and education of the patient and her baby through antepartum, labor and delivery as well as postpartum phase. I have also worked in NICU and special care nursery settings. I have recently received the Grateful Patient Award and also the Above and Beyond award as chosen by my current management. My passion is in working with a new family and helping the amazing process of welcoming their new gift into the world go as smooth and as safe as possible. I also strive to prepare them so they are ready and able to fully take on and continue both their care and that of their newborn on their own with confidence at home.
•Telephone triage while troubleshooting parent concerns as well as wellness and sick care of pediatric patients from birth to 21 years of age.
• Coordinating MD schedules as well as medication refills and lab work requests.
•Admintering vaccines, breathing treatments, blood work, and education to parents that goes along with each of these situations.
•Lactation visits with new moms and their families to track progress of infant breastfeeding and monitor weight loss. Troubleshooting infant feeding difficulties and education to new moms in our practice.
•PKU coordinator tracking all results within our practice and following up with clinics for further follow up needed. Facilitating communication of these needs between the physician, these clinics, and our families.
•Care of the laboring patient in the ante, intra, and post partum periods.
•Maternity trade providing evaluation of a wide range of care during both the pre term and term periods of maternity care.
•Pre, intra and post operative care of the mom and baby couplet. Resuscitative care of the newborn both preterm as well as term.
•Ongoing assessment and care to the mom and baby in the immediate post partum period. Education and preparing the family for discharge.
•Postpartum care of the mom baby couplet including assessments, medication administration, lab work to ensure healing of both mom and baby.
•Post operative care of the postpartum c section mom including pain control, infection prevention and healing to transition to home care.
•Education of families ensuring safe and adequate care of the post partum mom as well as the newborn.
•Lactation assessment and assistance to new moms and families including trouble shooting of difficulties in the feeding process.
I am certified in BLS as well as NRP and have extensive lactation experience.
