Board-certified ophthalmologist with interest in cornea and external eye disease in Makkah Eye Complex is a charity hospital; one of the biggest ophthalmic hospital in Sudan. On daily basis, an average of 800 patients seen and 70 surgical procedures performed in the hospital. In 2007, I helped to establish the cornea department in Makkah Eye Complex. Approximately, 90% of my time is spent seeing patients clinically, about 60% of these patients are evaluated cornea and external disease problems. Another 40% are seen in the general out patient clinic including cataract patients. Many of these patients are complex and referred for second opinion or re- operations. The remaining portion is spent on teaching and administrative duties. I am one of the first Sudanese doctors who performed corneal collagen cross-linking and Boston keratoprothesis. In Sudan Eye Center - one of the largest private ophthalmic centre in Sudan- I consult and manage patients. Surgical experience concentrates in anterior segment surgeries; including: Performed more than 1000 conventional extra capsular cataract surgery Phacoemulsification over 50 cases, under supervision. 80 cases of Penetrating Keratoplasty; including additional cataract extraction, synechiolysis, autograft. 4 cases of Boston keratoprothesis 100 cases of PTK 50 cases of PRK More than 250 corneal collagen cross-linking cases More than 200 ptrygium surgeries (+/- MMC, +/- autograft) More than 50 amniotic membrane graft. Numerous minor procedures.

Free Eye Camps: One-week visit to a rural area by a team including 3-5

Ophthalmologist. The main aim is treatment of cataract and trachoma, 400-500 surgical

procedures usually done (most of them ECCE+IOL) per camp.
