HOPE FORDYCE

I dream to become a singer-songwriter/performer in the music industry. I would love to work/intern at an entertainment/music focused company to immerse myself in the industry and learn everything I can about the real life music community. I seek to soak in all the knowledge I can get from anyone and everyone who works in the industry to help me get my foot in the door and pursue success. I work well with people and making connections and collaborating is very important to me.

I started singing, playing guitar, and writing songs when I was 7 years old. I pursued my interest in music by practicing my craft and taking lessons all throughout my life. I decided to be an English major at SMU to hone in on my writing skills, with a songwriting minor to take classes that interest me and to learn more about music. I've taken songwriting, music production, and music history courses thus far at SMU. I dream to become a singer-songwriter/performer in the music industry. I would say my original music would fit into the genre of indie pop, similar to artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae, and Gracie Abrams. I would love to work/intern at an entertainment/music focused company to immerse myself in the industry and learn everything I can about the real life music community.
